COVID-19 Wedding updates

are easing

Queensland has entered Stage 3 of easing restrictions!

How will this be done?
A national 3 Step Plan to relax coronavirus restrictions has been announced. Continued 1.5 metre social distancing and good hygeine practices are to remain across all stages. However, some states are revising restrictions on public gatherings. Check the rules in the state or territory where you live. Prior to entering any new stage, a COVID SAFE check will be conducted by the government before further easing of restrictions.

What does this mean for weddings?
In a nutshell, you can invite additonal guests to your ceremony and to your celebration that follows your I do’s. Every gathering must record contact details. Downloading the COVIDSafe app to your mobile phone and encouraging your guests to do the same is a responsible way to mange potential risk.

Make It A Big Deal

Marrying in a smaller ceremony than you perhaps first planned is still a big deal! Think outside the box, add a little creativity around the things that are special to the two of you and your I do’s will be a fabulous occasion in any stage of the 3 Step Plan.

  • Dress up! There are no wardrobe restrictions so make a statement.
  • Invite friends and families who couldn’t be there due to reduced numbers, travel restrictions or health risks, to join your ceremony via a Livestream.
  • Hold your ceremony at one of Brisbane’s many beautiful inner city parks or riverside locations, remembering your social distancing.
  • Support a local cafe or bar and celebrate there afterwards.
  • Celebrate with a an in-house dinner party with your guests. Some of Brisbane’s best restaurants are home delivering.
  • Why not enjoy the surrounds of your park location a little longer and celebrate with a pop up picnic from Wild Harvest Co.
  • Don’t forget about desert! Cakes by Judy C are delivering delectable sweet treats to your door. Judy’s macaroons are heavenly!

  • Include your fur babies, dressed for the occasion of course!

Intimate Little Ceremony

If you have decided to marry during steps 1 or 2 an original personalised ceremony and vows will have all the right “feels” for your Intimate Little Ceremony

I can take care of preparation and lodgement of all legal paperwork required before and after your ceremony.  With your 2 witnesses and guests present, observing social distancing and guest limits of course, personal promises and meaningful words will put the “Intimate” into your Little Ceremony.

Say hello, and let’s hatch a plan to get you hitched!  I’ll assist you in any way I can within the required guidelines.

marry now celebrate later

Legal Signing is perfect for couples who just want to get married now or have postponed their wedding and celebrations for a later date.

If you have decided to place your wedding on hold until you can enjoy all the bells and whistles but still want a little bit of fancy now, a Short & Sweet Legals Only Ceremony is right for you.

When restrictions are lifted and you can hold the big sha-bang, celebrating as your originally intended, your ceremony will be a renewal of vows as you can’t be legally married twice. All marriages, legals only or otherwise, require preparation & lodgement of legal paperwork before and after you are married along with 2 witnesses over the age of 18. I’m happy to help you with this. Get in touch and let’s talk.

Couples are choosing to postpone and reschedule for late this year or 2021 when hopefully, all restrictions are removed and we are able to return to our usual way of life. If you tick this box, remember that 2021 dates, particularly those in the most popular months of April, May, Setpember and October, will be in high demand. Many vendors and service providers are booked 18months in advance so some flexibility around choosing your rescheduled date and requesting your existing vendors’ availability sooner rather than later will also be helpful when co-ordinating your new date.
